Lighthouse at sunset

Your own photo as a cross stitch pattern: 10 DMC threads, 12.7 × 15.2 cm on 14-count Aida.

A red and white lighthouse at sunset, in only 10 colours: large areas and almost no isolated stitches. An ideal pattern for a first piece stitched from a photo.

The pattern is 70 × 84 stitches, that is 12.7 × 15.2 cm on 14-count Aida (16.2 × 19.4 cm on 11-count, 11.1 × 13.3 cm on 16-count, 9.9 × 11.9 cm on 18-count). It uses 10 DMC thread colours, about 10 skeins in all, stitched with 2 strands in full cross stitches only: no half stitches, no backstitch.

Fabric to buy: a piece of 14-count Aida of 29 × 32 cm, which leaves 8 cm all round for the hoop and the framing.

You get a PDF to print, in colour and in black and white, with the list of DMC threads and the number of skeins of each, and a .oxs file that opens in Pattern Keeper and most stitching apps, to follow the pattern on a tablet.

Want the same with your own photo? Send it from the site with a few words about what you love in it, choose the size and the fabric: the stitched preview arrives by email, free. You only pay for the pattern (€12) if you like it.
