Send us a photo of your cat, your house or your grandchildren. We turn it into a made-to-measure cross stitch pattern, with the list of DMC threads and the number of skeins to buy.
The photo
The embroideryOne to three photos, a title and a few words. You choose the size, the fabric and the number of colours.
We frame the subject, pick the closest DMC threads and remove isolated stitches. The stitched preview arrives by email.
If you like it, the pattern costs €12: a PDF to print, in colour and in black and white, with all the supplies to buy.
These patterns were made by our workshop, with the same tools as your order. The figures are their own.
One photo, a few words, and the workshop's next pattern is yours.
Three short steps. It takes about two minutes.
A pattern to print (PDF) in colour and in black and white, with the list of DMC threads, the number of skeins of each colour and the size of fabric to buy. You also get a file to follow the pattern on a tablet with Pattern Keeper or another app. We don't sell thread or fabric: any haberdashery has them.
The stitched preview is free. If you like the pattern, it costs €12, once. Thread and fabric are bought separately, from a haberdashery: the list tells you exactly what to get.
You send your request without paying anything. A quarter of an hour later, an email shows you the stitched piece and the list of threads. If you like the pattern, a button on your tracking page opens secure payment by Stripe (€12); the pattern arrives by email right after. If you don't, you pay nothing and have nothing to cancel.
A sharp photo, taken in good light, where the whole subject is clearly visible. For a pet, at its eye level; for a house, from the front. A plain background makes a clearer embroidery.
To start, choose “Simple” and 14-count Aida, the most common. 11-count Aida has bigger holes that are easier to see. “Very detailed” looks close to the photo, but with many colours and thread changes.
On 14-count Aida there are about 5.5 stitches per centimetre: a piece 20 cm wide is about 110 stitches. The bigger it is, the more detail it has, and the more stitches there are to make.
A single stitch of one colour in the middle of another: you have to finish off and restart the thread for one stitch. We remove nearly all of them, keeping only those that matter, like the glint in an eye.
They are used only to create your pattern, are analysed by Claude (Anthropic), and are deleted automatically after 90 days. GPS location is stripped on arrival. Protected characters and logos cannot be reproduced.
