Country bouquet

Your own photo as a cross stitch pattern: 15 DMC threads, 12.7 × 16.7 cm on 14-count Aida.

A bunch of wild flowers in a blue jug, stitched on ecru fabric: only the flowers and the jug are stitched, the fabric is the background. The date is stitched below, like on an old sampler.

The pattern is 70 × 92 stitches, that is 12.7 × 16.7 cm on 14-count Aida (16.2 × 21.2 cm on 11-count, 11.1 × 14.6 cm on 16-count, 9.9 × 13 cm on 18-count). It uses 15 DMC thread colours, about 15 skeins in all, stitched with 2 strands in full cross stitches only: no half stitches, no backstitch.

Fabric to buy: a piece of 14-count Aida of 29 × 33 cm, which leaves 8 cm all round for the hoop and the framing.

You get a PDF to print, in colour and in black and white, with the list of DMC threads and the number of skeins of each, and a .oxs file that opens in Pattern Keeper and most stitching apps, to follow the pattern on a tablet.
