The house with blue shutters

Your own photo as a cross stitch pattern: 19 DMC threads, 19.2 × 15.8 cm on 14-count Aida.

A house with blue shutters, tiled roof, garden and sky: everything is stitched, and a thin blue frame closes the scene. A lovely piece to remember a family home or celebrate a housewarming.

The pattern is 106 × 87 stitches, that is 19.2 × 15.8 cm on 14-count Aida (24.5 × 20.1 cm on 11-count, 16.8 × 13.8 cm on 16-count, 15 × 12.3 cm on 18-count). It uses 19 DMC thread colours, about 19 skeins in all, stitched with 2 strands in full cross stitches only: no half stitches, no backstitch.

Fabric to buy: a piece of 14-count Aida of 36 × 32 cm, which leaves 8 cm all round for the hoop and the framing.

You get a PDF to print, in colour and in black and white, with the list of DMC threads and the number of skeins of each, and a .oxs file that opens in Pattern Keeper and most stitching apps, to follow the pattern on a tablet.
